The Mac app uses macOS’s on-device speech recogniser. Audio is not uploaded for transcription, and FramioCam downloads no transcription model. Availability depends on on-device recognition support on your Mac and for the selected language.
The app explains Speech Recognition access before macOS asks. If access is refused, the app points to the relevant macOS settings.
Transcribe a recording or a supported imported video. WebM transcription is not supported by this pipeline, and transcription of standalone audio clips is not included.

Read and correct the source transcript. Corrections remain saved when you cut the video or reopen the project.
Cuts remove words, moves carry them, and speed changes adjust their timing. Muted clips contribute no spoken words; where clips overlap, the visible clip determines the transcript.
The transcript’s Delete action asks for confirmation and moves the transcript file to the Trash. You can transcribe the source again afterwards.
Switch to another panel while recognition runs. A dot on the Captions icon shows when transcription has finished; open Captions to read the result.
Choose Transcribe again to review the language and start a fresh transcript. The app asks before replacing corrections you have made.

Choose Box, Outline, or Shadow, then adjust size, position, and line layout. Settings are saved with the edit and support undo.
Choose a preset or custom text colour. Highlight the word being spoken with Marker, which puts a coloured box behind it, or Color, which changes the word’s own colour. Choose a highlight colour or turn highlighting off. These video effects do not add styling to SRT or VTT files.
The preview and video export draw captions with the same renderer. Burned-in captions follow the normal video-export plan limits.

Copy the transcript or download subtitle and text files. Text-only downloads are available on Free; adding captions to a video follows video-export limits.
Subtitle timing follows the edited output, with trim start at zero and master speed applied.
This work does not include text-based editing, transcript Project Sync, or standalone audio-clip transcription.
